Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the NDT inspectors in calibrating, setting up, transporting, cleaning, and maintaining all NDT equipment.
- Assist with non-destructive tests such as ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), Digital radiographic testing (DRT), and visual inspection (VT).
- The major responsibility of an NDT assistant is to assist the inspectors in all types of activities in their work.
- Record results and observations during inspections under the guidance of a certified NDT inspector.
- Assist in preparing inspection reports, documenting findings, and maintaining inspection records.
- Ensure all inspections are conducted according to industry standards (e.g., ASNT, ISO, ASTM, ASME), and company protocols.
- Participate in on-the-job training to gain hands-on experience in various NDT techniques.
- Attend 3rd-party inspections as a Company Representative when directed.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with the role as directed.
- Perform basic cathodic protection system measurements and supervision in addition to NDT-specific activities.
Requirements:
- It is essential that the applicant has a valid and current driving license acceptable for use in the KRI and a minimum of one year’s driving experience.
- Good ability with both written and spoken English.
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Metallurgy, or significant working experience in those fields, including some basic knowledge and interest in NDT.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, and being comfortable learning new computer skills.
- A genuine, enthusiastic, and curious approach to learning and certifying in a variety of NDT techniques up to a senior professional standard, including registration with certifying bodies such as API and ASME, attendance at specialist external courses, and commitment to pass external examinations.
- Ideally, the applicant will have at least 1 year of experience in an oilfield environment and be familiar with HSE requirements in this work environment.
- Fitness and stamina are key elements of this position. Some NDT equipment is quite cumbersome, so the ability to lift equipment safely, work in confined spaces, at height, and tolerate varying environmental conditions, including outside work in both summer and winter, is essential.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
