Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the origination, negotiation, and execution of crude oil and refined product sales contracts.
- Develop and implement trading and marketing strategies to optimize commercial returns.
- Maintain strong understanding of the local oil market, including production volumes, operational constraints, and refining capabilities.
- Build and manage economic models to evaluate business cases and support strategic decision-making.
- Apply financial metrics such as NPV, IRR, and sensitivity analysis to assess deal and project economics.
- Analyze global and regional market trends, pricing benchmarks (Platts, Argus), and trade flow opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including IOCs, refineries, trading houses, and government entities.
- Ensure smooth execution of commercial transactions through coordination with legal, operations, logistics, finance, and risk teams.
- Monitor performance of existing contracts and customers, providing insights and reporting to senior leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field (MBA or Master’s preferred).
- 5–10 years of progressive experience within the oil & gas industry.
- Proven expertise in crude oil and refined product sales, trading, and marketing.
- Strong experience in financial modeling and economic evaluation (NPV, IRR, scenario analysis).
- In-depth knowledge of local oil market dynamics, production operations, and refining processes.
- Familiarity with international trade practices, contract negotiation, and risk management tools.
- Fluent in reading and writing English, Kurdish, and Arabic.
- Strategic commercial and financial thinking.
- Advanced negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong understanding of upstream and downstream operations.
Working Conditions:
Office based role (5) days per week Sunday to Thursday and (8) hours per day.
